This lab has everything!
✅ Rainbows
✅ Cool science tools
✅ Color mixing
✅ Math
✅ Measurement
✅ Light
✅ Risk of Failure!
Pipette a Rainbow may seem like a simple lab, but sometimes the simple activities can hold more than you'd expect. On the surface, all you have to do is give groups of students cups of water with red, blue, and yellow food coloring and task them with making all the colors of the rainbow.
Students will take this challenge seriously! We have seen students spend nearly entire class periods working on the perfect purple recipe. They’re practicing color theory, measurement, working with ratios, failure and trying again.

On top of that, students can use high tech lab equipment like micropipettes and centrifuge tubes to experiment like real scientists! If you don't have access to micropipettes (which are $$$), plastic pipettes or eye droppers are a great substitution. Centrifuge tubes are easy to get from online retailers including Amazon and are more budget friendly!
